Now That's A Headstart

"...his approach was absolutely genius,
because it f**king worked.
"

...and broke the mainstream media into the bargain.

Like him or not, you can't knock the President-elect's energy; barely a week has passed since his historic win, and he has already:

Oh, and he's made quite some inroads into his official 100-day action plan to Make America Great Again, despite it only being Day negative-61 currently (presented with comments):

  • Cleaning Up Corruption & Special Interests (6 measures): the restrictions and bans on lobbying - particularly for foreign interests - should pass, though there will of course remain exclusions/circumventions. Federal hiring freeze shouldn't be too hard either.

Congressional term limits, while having its attractions, probably won't gain traction (for obvious reasons); requiring the elimination of two federal regulations for each new one added will probably give rise to much rules-lawyering (e.g. if C is to be added, remove A and B, but then propose A'+B'+C), so not much hope there

  • Protect American Workers (7 actions): NAFTA is likely to be renegotiated, and TPP is kill, so that's already two down. Labelling China as a currency manipulator... isn't that almost traditional for U.S. Presidents? That's three (gee, yuan's at 6.87 already, Xi sure ain't waiting). Don't see why he can't impose tariffs and lift restrictions on fossil fuels either (more on this later)

  • Security and the Constitution (5 actions): Ooh, this deserves to be examined individually.

    1. Cancel unconstitutional executive actions by Obama: general rule appears to be, what is unilaterally imposed by executive power, can be unilaterally repealed by the same; these include a number of energy sector restrictions (as covered above), for example; this however doesn't extend to pardons, just sayin' (though really, he was probably just joking)

    2. Appoint Judge Scalia's replacement: ok, the Republicans bet win and won big, on this gambit. The Democrats can filibuster it to an extent, but they probably can't drag it out for four years

    3. Cancel Sanctuary City funding: while they aren't eager to actively seek out illegal immigrants, the question is whether he can do it... which he can. Look out for quiet face-saving compromises from the mayors, after the general populace gets tired of the likely protest-riots.

    4. Start Mass Deportations: well, big news here: every administration deports illegal immigrants. Indeed, the deportation amnesty of the incumbent lame-duck presidency is already being suspended. That's efficiency, folks!

    5. Suspend Immigration from Terror-prone Regions: so, remember that "Muslim ban"? It's turned into a region-based one... which, I'd suspect, won't be too unpopular amongst the citizenry at large.

Not bad, eh? And note, he won't even get paid for all this! America, you've got yourselves a right bargain there!
