(Part III)

Who else could it have been?


The fight, it is well and truly on.

Information. The lifeblood of the Age of Aquarius. Our engineers have harnessed lightning, and set it to sand; the common man now speaks to the winds, and they carry his thoughts to the corners of the world. Billions of souls, trillions upon uncounted trillions of words, flung across the ether, reaching out to the stars.

But not all souls develop equally, and a select few have sought to direct this unfathomable potential, far beyond their assigned due. Stealthily when they can, brutally when they cannot, they seek to prune the tree of discourse - a branch here, a twig there. Men of power and influence, in stations high and ancient and impeccable: religious orders, the political elite, the mainstream press. And, for a long time - too long, in fact - they held the gateway against the rabble: believe. trust. sacrifice. faith is virtue. we know best.

Many have tried to stand against the tide; many were mowed down like so much chaff. But from blessed America, the Free, the Brave, soon to be the Great, one man stood as a beacon in the darkness, a hero, a GOD-EMPEROR, and soon to be President: Donald J. TRUMP. And, under his aegis, free discussion - the right to speak and be heard - by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

And, in the shadowy corridors of power, the wheels are turning. Wizened heads and sunken brows, clothed in the many varied trappings of inherited and wrangled privilege, but uniformly dedicated to a singular purpose - control; from exquisitely-leathered seats, they as one sense a disturbance, a challenge. Having tended the tree and woven the Story for so many years, they now find it slipping out of their grasp...

In a hundred chambers and boardrooms around the world, grand and cavernous and empty, the erstwhile Masters of the Universe glance slowly about, uncertain for the first time in eons. That which they feared, has come to pass.

The Truthbringer has returned to walk the land.


Preliminaries

It may well be the greatest war in human history - in number of participants and overall impact, if not direct death toll - and the first probing salvos are being fired. The human rights chief of the United Nations, having learnt that the GOD-EMPEROR is immune to Godwinning (yes, yes he does) and Putinning, is now comparing him to ISIS! Methinks they may be running out of ammo soon (and Castro has suddenly been rehabilitated by the left, go figure)

The main theatre of battle lies, expectedly, in the United States. Hornswoggled Democrats - some possibly still nervously resorting to Play-Doh and colouring books to cope - first pinned their hopes on a recount (remember the last time that happened?). Jill Stein (yes, who?) somehow raised over US$7 million - more than double her actual Presidential campaign (but, let's cut her a break, Hillary pissed US$1.2 billion away. Yes, billion) - for one.

Well, as it turns out, the Michigan recount has already been halted, which means that there's mathematically no way that Wisconsin (10 EV) and Pennsylvania (20 EV) can change the outcome (TRUMP +74) materially, not that any significant irregularities have been discovered. Too bad, I suppose, eh, what's the fine print here... "if the recount doesn't go through, the Green Party will keep the money?"

As they say, fool me once (Bernie), shame on me...

And oh - Slate has finally, finally figured out that TRUMP was using political moves from pro wrestling, almost a year after we noted the obvious here (and re-emphasized, again and again), after Linda McMahon - ex-CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, remember - was appointed as head of the Small Business Administration. Better late than never...


Application To Singapore

Alright, I understand - on the surface, a TRUMP presidency is bad for Singapore. Protectionist measures, reduced trade, yadda yadda (but, totally worth it!)

Number One Effect: The Trans-Pacific Partnership, dead. But, to be brutally honest, our hand seems to have been very badly misplayed on this one, in any case. After a kinda-pointless warning to a lame-duck outgoing President that losing the TPP would be a "very big setback for America" (like TRUMP will have problems finding willing trade partners...), our PM vacillated between lamenting its loss, somehow berating the GOD-EMPEROR for not having sympathy for the TPP (EDMW gem: since when trade got to do with sympathy?), and - completely senselessly - committing to pressing ahead without the U.S. (one imagines the other would-be treaty participants gathering about our PM and patting him on the back sympathetically: "It's gone, man. Let it go.")

If it is of any consolation at all, he seems to have belatedly come to his senses, and recognized that "without the U.S., there is no TPP" at the incumbent party conference. Of course, thing is, the TPP was never much about trade at all - we do already have bilateral agreements in place with almost all TPP participants - instead being a poorly-disguised regional anti-China bloc. Thus, in not quietly dropping the matter when the going was good, we have apparently become seen as the vanguard of an anti-China coalition!

For all the talk about us having to stay neutral (reiterated by George Yeo), it's not hard to see why this might be the perception (did the PM really have to personally slam China, and in Japan, no less?!), all the more with persistent wisecracks about pork soup on tap and there being no Middle Kingdom, etc. Then again, having to pick sides could be inevitable, there's always Big Uncle Sam... but if the backhanded congrats on Facebook might be passable (was there really a need to call it a "contentious, ugly election season"?), we have a former ambassador publicly trying to teach TRUMP how to run his country!

Now, maybe this... unorthodox approach could work, but honestly, I don't think so. Or, perhaps, it's just our guys trying to get in on the new "mad politics" fashion, and earn a place at the big boys' table. Appreciate the effort, I guess.

So, nine of our Terrex armoured fighting vehicles got detained in Taiwan, which one suspects is a cock-up partly due to NOL being hocked off and no longer well-integrated with MINDEF's needs. As some pundits have noted, it could be an invitation to disassociate from Taiwan while saving face all around...

...not that Taiwan's doing too badly for themselves, however. Their president dialled TRUMP, and... TRUMP answered! And then, he tweeted that it was "interesting how the U.S. sells Taiwan billions of dollars of military equipment but I should not accept a congratulatory call.", amidst rather hypocritical liberal and PRC screeching. The legend, the absolute legend!

Unfortunately, that isn't the end of it from The Ancestral Motherland - in case one hasn't noticed, China's proposed Maritime Silk Road runs through Singapore... in the sense that they're dumping US$14 billion into Malacca's port... and we're not even talking about the Kra or Arctic sea routes yet (maybe get Al Gore to continue pressing the GOD-EMPEROR on this?)

In general, it's best for small nations not to get the attention of larger ones (see: LKY's foresight), what more with a downturn brewing in China (note: I wonder why global institutions aren't hiring more Chinese economists, since they have an accuracy second to none - Xi has just proclaimed a GDP growth rate of 6.7% for the first three quarters, exact to the decimal point! Seems like Dr. Chang's analysis was on point...), despite the yuan tumbling to multi-year lows (over 6.90 to the USD now - and they're still trying to sell "no long-term devaluation", after playing this exact same tune since 6.05 in 2014?) Eh, capital controls, likely recession engineered by the deep state against TRUMP, India seizing gold, Bitcoin (maligned), hint hint...
