I'm delaying the review indefinitely till I get the time to figure most of it out, so just a few short comments. To begin with, the scientist who guided a probe landing on a freaking comet had been hauled up... for his shirt. Honestly, I failed to discern what was so objectionable about it, given that it appeared a perfectly functional batik shirt, before closer inspection revealed even less to be displeased about. Sure, it might not be in the best of taste, but seriously, pinning the lack of women in science on it (even discounting that it was a handmade gift from a female friend)? Maybe they could come to a compromise here... Apparently, he fits the absent-minded professor stereotype according to his sister, being hopeless at parking his car, which one wouldn't expect after his more otherworldly achievements... but then there're stories of famous mathematicians struggling to split the bill after dinner (higher math often doesn't involve too much applied arithmetic) On this, I've got to admit that it's starting to be a bit of a pain picking up new (computer) languages - I recall blundering through Perl a decade and a half ago, going from mistake to mistake without losing enthusiasm, simply because it was the only way I could implement the cool stuff (later on, including this blog) that I wanted to. Nowadays, it's more of bah, I know how to do it in Perl, so why bother? Back here, Ngerng has gotten summary judgment-ed, which was completely to be expected - the question was always how much damages would be demanded, and whether he will be able to crowdfund it all. I'm stockpiling popcorn. Sadly, the founder of the Choose Your Own Adventure series has passed on (turn to page 13 to leave your respects, turn to page 65 to send flowers). Personally, I came into the concept through Nintendo Gamebooks, which turned my widdle mind back then - you could make choices! This might have led to familiarity with if/else thinking... And finally, a couple of... odd collaborations. Pro wrestler CM Punk is now a... writer for Marvel comics. And Richard Dawkins is going to speak... on a Nightwish album. How do they come up with this?! Next: Downtime
