Wall Of Roof Terrace

Pardon the reflection, twas a sunny afternoon

It being over a year since moving into the starter home, I figured it time to fulfil the past promise of a virtual tour, at least in part. This delay was partly due to... complications in the renovation timeline, but suffice to say for now that lessons were learnt in that respect, and that it did get completed, if rather later than scheduled. In the interest of fairness, there have been fewer visitors than otherwise might have been, and I will instead perform the reveal piecemeal here.

The roof terrace is as good a place to start as any, given that it's probably the highlight of the unit, and the opportunity of having open skies overhead was too good to pass on, sunbathing and (a little attempted) stargazing aside - mini-garden it is, then!

On top of it all

The major pots on the repurposed side table hold, from left to right, bougainvillea (standard purple bracts), pencil pine, variegated dwarf umbrella tree, croton petra, and laksa plant. Of the visible small pots, the left's a mini sago palm, which has sprouted two much larger fronds despite the original three not growing much if at all; the pot has additionally gained an extra guest of unknown provenance, which has been retained. As for the small pot on the right, it's a pistachio bonsai that might have seen better shape, but I'm ok with it too.

And down there

For the bottom row, we have an ixora red that's flourishing if not flowering, and then a miniature holly, and finally a calamansi lime (currently fruiting, note all the green limes sprouting). Between the large pots, there's a lucky bamboo hidden somewhere between the ixora and the holly, and a fat-stemmed money tree, which like the sago plam has has its new growth shoot right out. Note also the fern over/undergrowth, and while they're technically weeds, I'm not bothered.

There was some more space

Okay, I didn't keep track of the names for these, but the red one was a Christmas special that has thrived past the season.
