Well Now

Alongside (manufactured) premature reports of Chomsky's passing, reputable sources have revealed that the Pentagon had run a clandestine (FAKE NEWS) campaign to discredit China's (Team Red's) Sinovac vaccine in the Philippines, back in 2020 at the height of the Pandemic Game. Given that the Pentagon has since officially reaffirmed their decision, that the deliberate disinformation happened does not seem to be under dispute.

The perhaps-obvious issue here is the impact on Filipino public health given that the Sinovac vaccine does work to an extent, by all indications and from the World Health Organization's later endorsement. About this, readers of this blog might refer again to our analysis in January 2022 on the rather strange geographical pattern of vaccine brand acceptance, that just so happens to coincide with the current Team Red/Team Blue split in the fast-developing Cold War II:

Indeed, readers might review the previous Turns (11, 12, 13, 14 & 15) of our telling of Twilight Struggle: New Moon, the broad direction of which does seem to be quite accurate, if I do say so myself. Frankly, I can barely wait to continue the reporting on Turn 15 (which is about drawing to a close in real life), but this will have to wait for some additional leisure time to appear.
